Level 3: Swimming Foundations

Duration: 30 minutes
Student-to-Instructor Ratio: 4:1
Ages: 4+ (under 4 can register with instructor approval)
Prerequisites: Level 2 Skills Achieved: Swimmers must be able to swim 5 yards independently on both their front and back, transition between front and back floats without assistance, and jump in, roll to a float, and return to the wall on their own.

Level 3 is designed for swimmers who are ready to strengthen their safety skills and build the foundation for coordinated stroke technique. This class focuses on using an effective kick, glides, and developing front and back swimming skills.

With a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio, swimmers benefit from individualized support while gaining the confidence to swim longer distances. Key skills include glides, front swimming with rollover recovery, back swimming with alternating arms, elementary backstroke, and a strong focus on developing an effective kick.

By the end of this level, swimmers will be able to swim 10 yards on both their front and back unassisted, demonstrating the foundational swimming skills needed for learning Stroke Development in our Level 4 class.
