Level 4: Stroke Introduction

Duration: 30 minutes
Student-to-Instructor Ratio: 4:1
Ages: 4+ (under 4 can register with instructor approval)
Prerequisites: Level 3 Skills Achieved: Swimmers must be able to swim 10 yards independently on their front with extended arms and rollover recovery, 10 yards on their back with alternating arm movement.


Level 4 is designed for swimmers who are ready to transition from learning the basics to introducing stroke development. This class begins introducing technical elements of freestyle and backstroke, including proper body position, arm movements, and coordinated breathing techniques.

With a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio, swimmers benefit from both individualized feedback and group-based practice. Emphasis is placed on effective kicks, freestyle breathing, and mastering streamline body positions.

By the end of this level, swimmers will be able to swim 15 yards of both freestyle and backstroke with confidence and control, preparing them for Stroke Technique & Endurance in our Level 5 class.
