Level 2: Independent Movement

Duration: 30 minutes
Student-to-Instructor Ratio: 2:1
Ages: 3+ (potty trained and able to follow directions)
Prerequisites: Level 1 Skills Achieved: Swimmers must be able to enter and exit the pool independently, submerge their face while blowing bubbles, and transition between front and back float positions with assistance.

Level 2 emphasizes water safety while building swimming confidence. Swimmers practice safe pool entry and exit, floating and rolling over unassisted, and breath control. With these safety foundations, children gain the skills needed to stay calm, confident, and secure in the water.

With a low 2:1 student-to-instructor ratio, each swimmer benefits from personalized attention and plenty of practice opportunities to build confidence and reinforce key safety skills. Swimmers will begin to develop breath control, unassisted floating, and continue learning basic front and back swimming skills. Key safety skills—like jumping in, rolling to a float, and returning to the wall—are introduced and practiced regularly.

By the end of this level, swimmers will demonstrate water confidence and readiness to focus on Swimming Foundations in our Level 3 class.
